I received a post from the family vet that Lowell has been
found. I do not know his condition. He is the 10 yr old guide dog who
ran from the overturned vehicle in an accident in NC that killed his
owner, the son of the woman he used to guide before her death. Please
forward the news to anyone you may have alerted. Thanks.

However, this family is grieving and my heart goes out to them at the loss of their son.
Thank you, moderators, for allowing this post to stand, and thanks to all who expressed their concern, hopes and empathy. Only dog lovers really know what it means to lose one's dog, especially in a situation like this. I'm glad the mother has her son's dog back, as he and the dog were very close and this may help ease the pain a bit in the days ahead.
So tragic for the family...and yes, we do extend our sympathy as a forum community even though we don't know them personally. I know the mother is glad to have Lowell home - may he guide her as he led her son before. Blessings to all....and to the people who cared enough to find him and return him to his rightful owner.
A sad time for the family, but how nice that this dog who dedicated himself to serving a person can still have a long and happy retirement. I am so happy to hear he was found after all these days.
Slight topic change........Did anyone hear about the guy that died in the military & his family has adopted his K9 partner??? I think it is so great that the military let the dog go & this family was able to adopt him!
