my dog has known my moms dog for years and no matter what we do he humps her. She doens't even care anymore, but I would rather him not.
We have a call off, but he still does it. When he does we say "No bunnies" and he quits, but then starts again. I've put him in his cage, scolded him, redirected him, etc.

She's staying the night w/ us and it's starting to annoy me.

I think maybe she needs her glands emptied and he's picking up on that.

Does anyone else have a humper dog and have you had success stopping it?

If he only exhibits mounting behavior towards your mother's dog and not with any other dogs, objects or people, it is probably just dominance behavior. Scolding and punishment probably won't work. You may want to consult with a trainer that specializes in behavioral issues.

If the mounting behavior isn't exclusive to your mom's dog, then your dog may have a hormonal imbalance and you should have him checked out thoroughly by a vet.

Good luck!

I usually let them hump until the other dog gets mad and snaps at 'em.

ha! We tried that. He just keeps humping. They are good friends. She never snaps at him, maybe she likes it.
My mom always says "Cody stop humping Daisy, she's your cousin" =)

He humps mainly my moms dog. Sometimes other females.
Daisy(moms dog) is in love w/ me, so I thin it's a jealousy thing.
He is now barking at her because she is sitting next to me. I'm gonna just ignore it all!

Turn up music and clean the house. Daisy never gets mean, so he just keeps humping.
Greenmachine, I'm gonna follow your lead and just let them deal with it.

Thanks

My dogs hump to show dominance. My male pit gets humped by my female and another male. The other day the male pit was humping the female. She nipped that in the bud quick. What gets me is when they start licking each others no nos.

I have nothing constructive to add here, other than a giant rollicking EL-OH-EL!
