My 9-week old schnauzer puppy started to experience some sickness yesterday. During his evening meal, he ate his usual portion but drank MUCH more water than usual. About 5 minutes after eating he started to throw up a clear/yellow liquid. There were no changes in his diet and he didn't eat anything he shouldn't have. He vomited several times in 10 minute intervals on the way to our vet.

We were able to get him in to our vet within 1.5 hours and they did x-rays, tested his stool, Parvo test, intestinal parasites, etc. His stomach was clear but appeared to be very bloated (he felt bloated and it was noticeable from the outside as well). They found a bit of bacteria in his stool but nothing more than that. They gave us medicine to help with his nausea and sent us home. There were no changes in his behavior AT ALL. He was still friendly and energetic with his tail wagging.

During the middle of the night, he woke up and pooped much more than normal within a 2 hour time period. His stools were 90% solid and a tad bit runny (no blood or anything in his stools). After this he just went back to sleep as usual.

I woke up this morning and fed him a smaller portion than what he normally eats with 1/2 of a veterinarian prescribed pill (can't think of the name) and he seemed fine afterwards. Still energetic and full of life. His stools were 100% solid.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Since he's only 9 weeks old, I'm assuming that you haven't had him more than a week...perhaps it is the food that you are giving him? Maybe check with the person you got him from to see what they were feeding. Even if it is a high-quality food, not all foods work for all dogs. Also, puppies tend to chew on and eat a lot of stuff that they shouldn't...any chance that got into something that he shouldn't have?
