I can't stand the people on here that say they love Pitbulls but hate what makes them a breed which is fighting. Pitbulls enjoy fighting I mean why do you think there tail wags and they smile before they get into a scrap. Matching dogs is also what sets the standard for the breed not the color or size. What makes me even more upset is when you have people that claim to be breeders wanting to know good breeders to get stock from. If your breeding dogs you should already have good stock or you should not be breeding. Face it Pitbulls are bred for fighting and love to fight and always will fight. Most of you know nothing about the Pitbull which makes me feel good but if you own one and are against dog fighting you should give your dog away because that is what made it a breed. Pitbulls never attacked humans until you stopped letting them be Pitbulls you know what I mean.
Honestly, I don't think you know what you're talking about, where are the facts to back up your talk ? It's just not true ! Look at some of Vick's dogs that have been adopted. They are sweet, happy dogs that want a little love and kindness. They do NOT want to fight, they were rescued just in time before they were brutally tortured and killed, by that monster. Pits are one of the most abused out of the Canis Lupis Familiaris family, all b/c of A-hole people that want to get their jollies from torturing a poor helpless dog, and anyone that partakes in such crimes, imo, should go strait to prison ! Your thought process is wacked. Go take your meds, dude !

If you can't appreciate others' love for their pets..then don't come to a DOG FORUM...COMMON sense.
The only way I will EVER believe that pitbulls "love" to fight is when a pitbull tells me so..and I don't see that happening anytime soon.
What is wrong with what I typed it is the truth Pitbulls have been selectively bred for hundreds of years to fight so its no secret how much they love to fight. The reason why today you have so many "pitbull" attacks is because of people who know nothing about a breed and think they do throw two dogs together. Everything I have typed is true and for all who posts on it I remember who has said they have game dogs and who claims to know people that were involved in matching dogs so I will call you out on it when you post. Pitbulls have been matched in America before it was called America and if you read Little House in the Big Woods the Laura Ingles Wilder books you will see where her father used to take Jack the Bulldog to fight on the weekends and it was said Jack never lost a fight. Well, if that is what you think then that's alright,I guess. I don't claim to know EVERYTHING about any type of dog. I don't even have a pitbull. I have a little ten pound dog. And all that matters to me is that she is safe,healthy,and happy, not what she was "bred for" years and years ago. But please don't call any creature useless. THAT, my friend, is incorrect.
So if Pitt Bulls love fighting so much then why did Michael Vick have to have them all caged up? Wouldn't they have just hung around his place on their own since that was where all the good fighting was? This is a ridiculous argument - actually it isn't even an argument, it is just an ill-informed rant. I don't even own a Pitt Bull, but I've learned a lot from this forum about how gentle these dogs really are until they get in the hands of bad humans. I'm looking forward to learning more from some of the well educated Pitt Bull posters here!
Sublime, there is a big difference between a breeds history and what it is now. Love to fight ? Sure my dog plays with other "pits" and in particular a huge Great Pyrenese and as of late a boxer and some other dog have been getting in my yard. I see nothing but playing. This is my second Staff and definately not only my second experience with the breed and have only seen on occasions dogs that are very dog agressive. But I can tell you that the agressive dogs were not socialised.

Since you love the real pitbull are you trying to tell us that you fight your dogs ? If so I think you are a disgrace to the human race and hope you end up in a similar fate.
Pitbulls don't live fighting, but they're probably the best dog for it. They are some of the strongest canines. If I had one, I would not make him fight though.
I'm closing this thread - it is strangely like a thread from a couple of months ago that got shut down for a flame war. I think plenty has probably been said on this subject - let's don't go there again and everyone end up in the time out box (myself included). Thank you.
