Looks more like part boxer to me.. but then I have one who looks just like her. My nephew and his wife said they thought she was part pit but others have said 'no'.
Thanks for the replies so far!
More info: The reason I ask about whether he looks like a pitbull is because i will be moving somewhere that has pitbull bans. I am not really sure whether he will be considered a "pitbull" but if he will, then I will have to live in a different county.
Depending on where you go, anything that looks like a pitbull in any way shape or form are usually banned under the BSL. Do some research before you go.
I could see that there might be some pit in there, but my guess would be less than 1/2.
I have a similar-looking dog that is 1/2 pit, 1/2 lab, and mine looks a little more pit than yours, but most people just think she's a chocolate lab.
I think your dog is perfectly passable as a non-pit, so I would not worry about people necessarily identifying your dog as one, but what are the rules in that county?
I know of a Home Owner's Association in a neighboring county who does not allow pit bulls. Someone I know has a pit mix and had to have DNA work done on the dog. Since the dog came up as a mix, and not 100% pit, the dog was allowed into the community........wait, it gets better .......this same family is going to be adding a Presa Canario into the family, apparently Presas are fine but pits are not.
Will the county require DNA testing? That could trip you up, you'd want to know that first.
Also, what do your dog records state your dog is? I always have my vet list my dogs as "mutts".
Yes you've got to research whether they say ANYTHING that LOOKS like a pit bull. She's gorgeous but her looks are borderline, (as to whether she's pit), someone could say she looks like a pit.
Personally, I'd stay out of an area that bans pits just to keep her safe. These laws make no "rhyme or reason", they're passed by ignorant people, who don't want to be CONFUSED WITH THE FACTS!
Good luck whatever you do.
Surprising that some posters here are encouraging you to be dishonest. I think your dog looks like a full blooded pit bull so I doubt you will be able to get away with lying. Why set yourself up for possibly breaking the lease?
