I agree with most of the above. I think, at this point is is accustomed to be outdoors...and for the moment, probably prefers it. You have given the opportunity to bring all his "stuff" outside with him. Thanks Mom!
I too, would try putting a bed outside...although switch them up...the old one outside, the new one in. I'd love to see this little guy in action! I can just see him tugging and pushing....LOL

I had a Shihtzu a while back that was a rock collecter. He would bring these big smooth river rocks in from outside. He'd line them up in a straight row and he'd lick them. I would put them back outside and he'd bring them back in.

He was a very smart dog, like yours!

I think if we'd left him to it long enough he'd have figured out how to get back over the gate, but in the end we moved the chairs because we were afraid he'd hurt his back jumping so far so often.

So, your dog may just enjoy the challenge of dragging the bed outside. It may be a game to him. On the other hand, he obviously likes being outside and having his comfy bed out there with him might be appealing.

If he's not destructive, can you secure the bed to an immovable object in the kitchen? Or, can you provide a snug outdoors den with another bed that would be protected from the weather? Maybe if he had a bed outside he'd leave the inside one be.

Sounds like, what everyone else has said, that he just really likes being outside and he prefers his toys and bed to be out there too!

It reminded me of a story someone told me, that someone had a dog and they lived up north. the dog always stayed outside no matter what. and one night it was wayyyy too cold so he brought his dog inside; the dog was whining and panting and having a fit all night long so he finally let him back outside. the dog went out and was happy as could be. All he wanted was too be outside where he was used to being.
