We have had many different breeds of dogs. We liked labs, collies and shelty dogs, and my very favorite was a stray sheep dog that came to us from a friend that saved it when someone dropped it off beside the road on I-85. I find the smaller breeds of dogs to be a regular pain. Hounds are so loud and want to bark all the time.
Our sheep dog never barked unless there was a reason. He kept the 3/4 acre we have fenced in safe for my children. He killed bees, snakes, rats and whatever else he thought was a threat to them. My son used to ride him like a horse. He could have done great damage, but he was so gentle with children.
I have had dogs all my life.. 50 plus years.. from small dogs to big dogs I loved them all and say a prayer for their souls everynight.. I got a Jack Russell Terrier from a farm in Gardner Illinois.. Never have I had such an intelligent dog.. It sometimes is scary....He reads my mind and he obeys all commands.....I am lucky to have such a dog!!!

I love JRT's! Such smart little dogs with a personality a million times bigger than their bodies.
My Favorites are:
Schnauzers (had one as a kid)
Newfoundlands (GF's parents have one, such sweet dogs)
Bearded Collies (the clowns of the dog world)
Old English Sheepdogs

I love all dogs.
My favorite though is the Pug...They are just funny to look at (makes you smile everyday), small (they are great when you live in a small house or apartment), and don't need a whole lot of exercise (so you can go on with your day in a shorter time).
To me, they are just loveable, adorable, and cute....I love them so much.
