It really depends on the size of the dog. For smaller dogs, it's usually early, so 7 months is ok for a poodle.

edit: I just have the two girls in heat here... OMG! xD

I have found that smaller dogs seem to bleed more than the larger breeds....

Why would a smaller dog bleed more then a bigger one?
