so much so that it is I who moves when they all jump up to lay with me on the couch, then I move to the love seat because there is not enough room for me on the couch, they inevitably follow me, so in the end we are all lying on the floor where there is enough space for us and the furniture isn't even being used!
Bandy's allowed and welcome to get up on the bed with me, but he knows he has to wait for an invitation. (Mom's gotta get comfortable first, and then Bandy can "jump up!" and get comfy.) He doesn't even try to get up on the couch...just doesn't seem interested.
my dog is allowed pretty much anywhere she wants except for on top of the pool table and kitchen counter. she sleeps in the bedroom with us and often she sleeps right on top of me.

My husband's rules: Artie's not allowed on the couch; Artie's not allowed on our bed. He is allowed on the guest bed though. And on the chair-and-a-half that's near the couch -- which is where I sit also.
If it weren't for my husband, Artie could be anywhere he pleases.
well I don't know about furniture because I let my dogs on the furniture but I use to take socks and tie knots in them and give them to my dogs to play with and then get annoyed when they get into my laundry and someone said perhaps it confuses the dog that 'this sock is ok to play with but not this one' not sure though, they still go after my laundry and they don't get the knot socks anymore
Our dog frequently lies down on our recliner. It is his favorite piece of furniture. If I were not posting from my phone, I would have uploaded a photo.
