if you are planning on breeding you should already be a member in good standing with the AKC and will only be breeding dogs that have passed your breed standards protocols. the AKC should be able to help you
My dogs are all altered except one is pregnant right now. They are all adults from an AKC breeder that I am fostering, I'm just not too sure what the protocol with the state of NY is for that.
I don't think to foster you have to have a license unless you were to house more than seven. the number a household is allowed is controlled by the bounty if I am not mistaken check with them. also try your AKC breed rescue folks they should know too.
AKC will register a kennel name at times not guarenteed and must do AKC events, so us breeders that breed for specific purpose like dog was to do not show cannot get a kennel name through them. No matter I use one anyways.
Question was a kennel license and yes that is done through city or county. I get kennel license and can up to 12 dogs and then $5.00 per dog after
(fostered or owned)...At 10 and 15 for each license was cheaper buy a 50.00 kennel license for me. Will need proof of rabies and if like here in Wisconsin any dog over 6 months must be licensed.
Love dogs, so you're breeding? I hope you're doing all genetic testing, xrays, showing, etc before even thinking of it. I'd hate to think you're an irresponsible breeder.
If you are responsible, your mentor should be able to help you with that. If you're looking to rescue / foster, it's up to your individual county on whether you need a license. I don't need one where I am.
And if you're looking to breed in an irresponsible manner, you'll find very little help here. This group is very responsible breeder only or rescue. I'm proud of everyone on here.
Did you read her post? She's fostering and one of her foster dogs is pregnant.
Yeh, fostering from a breeder. Someone that's breeding to make money and has so many ******* in heat or whelp that they ran out of room and have someone else taking them so it doesn't cut into their profits.
If I mis-read, I apologize. But I'm guessing that because she's fostering for a breeder and not for a rescue, this isn't a rescue situation. This is a ***** out your dog to make money situation.
I do think you're jumping to conclusions. The rest of her foster dogs are spayed or neutered.
She didnt' say that she's fostering FOR the breeder. She said the dogs came FROM a breeder.
This could be no different from a volunteer who receives dogs from a puppy mill to foster.
