Male or Female, what's your preferance in dogs (Shar-Pei, tumors, vet)

I tend to go with males, only two of my dogs were ever female, males are more outgoing, guy type dogs, go were no dog has ever been type lol, they tend to stick right with you everywere you go, lay by you.
Females seem to be loners, lay off by themselves, have a mind of there own in a way, more laid back i guess you would say.
That's easily remedied with a trip to the vet to get spayed.
We've had both, probably more females than males, and I go back and forth about it. Sometimes females seem a bit more intense to me.
I've had both and so long as they are spayed/neutered they've made fantastic pets. My female that I currently share my life with is in tune to me emotionally, smart as a whip and quite protective.
I have always had males with the exception of the little dog that I took in a few years back. She seems more picky and "high maintenance". She is spayed. I've heard others state that females seemed more intense. I'm glad someone asked this question because I failed to inquire about it in my thread concerning dogs. I hope more respond to this thread. It will be very educational for those of us considering adding another dog to our homes.
My dogs chose me! I have one female and one male. Both were fixed at six months since they are mutts and rescued. Never had a problem with either. Both are loving, playful, great out-going personalities.
Males, but mainly for a the reason i dont want to deal with a female in heat.
Well, a female should be spayed as a male should be neutered. I spayed my dog at the age of 6 months, so never had to deal with the heat problem. It's also safer for them because the more heats they go through and the more puppies they have, the risk becomes extremely great for developing mammary gland cancerous tumors.
I do prefer females, but I can't really say what the reasoning is behind that.
