Have y'all seen that commercial for a vacuum cleaner where a Persian cat is sitting on the stairs and "poof" it is suddenly naked and its hair is covering every surface? I can relate to that right now. Within the last 3 days both of my dogs have started dropping their winter coats at an alarming rate

Its a sure sign of spring for us every year and an annual event. Time for the Furminator, dust cloths, vacuum and Swiffer to go into high gear. Spring has sprung in Houston!

It's spring all year around here. The hair PC sheds is unbelievable and happens all year long. If you figure out a way to control the hair, let me know. The Furminator, vacuum, Swiffer, broom, etc doesn't seem to be doing it for us!

I have a pillow on my sofa that says "no outfit is complete without dog hair". The best I can do is try to keep the "doggie dust bunnies" from becoming ubber-sized. Other than shaving my pups (which is not an option) I just beat the hair back as much as I can & consider it a part of having dogs in my life!

Hmmm What's the best vac for dog fur? We've gone through a Hoover, Dirt Devil, and Kennmore... We'll be buying a new vac in the next month or so. We're thinking of going with a shop vac... Maybe the fur won't kill it so quickly as it dose the uprights...

I can definitly relate to the "poof" feeling... seems like I could have made three more Riley sized dogs out of her sheds already...

So far, my Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is holding up well, and the tools and attachments are useful in combating Willie's constant shedding. Nothing seasonal about it, in this house...tumbleweeds all year long.

Got to admit that I like my Bissell too. I have the Healthy Home model and it does the best job yet of getting the dog hair up. It weighs a ton but works great. This is its 3rd year so it has outlasted all other vac I've tried too

Yeah, our dog has been doing the same the past few weeks. The little "tufts" of hair are appearing everywhere, and when you pet her you just end up with a handful of hair. It's rough having a double coated breed

One of our does this every spring. It isn't just a loss of undercoat (impossible since he doesn't have one) he changes his entire coat. ALL of it. It's an absolute hoot because the summer edition is a different colour - far more caramel than blonde. First year we had him I thought ok, out from rescue, better nutrition, all the changes, blah, blah blah. Next spring, same thing. This is the third spring and he's currently mottled with the caramel coming through the blond and looks definitely odd. Give him a scratch, take away a handful of fur.

I have, literally, plastic shopping bags FULL of his fur in the rubbish.. which when you consider he's a short hair dog....
