What's really humorous about all these posts is the fact that there is no monetary system in America outside of the one that includes the fed, acting as though we have a real free market financial system AND a "backup" one in the form of the fed and it's numerous monetary contrivances is as nonsensical as the OP's starter thread. I've noticed that this view of American financial constructs allows those who believe this way to think that it is possible to have a separation of government and banking at this late date.

Deflation is hated because it means that the FIRE economy disappears. Deflation is a natural result of technology, it means less work is needed and more free time is available for people to enjoy. Imagine if you had no taxes to pay, no mortgage and no fear of inflation. As you became more productive you would have to work less. Your investments when younger would be ready to serve you when older. Inflation benefits the unproductive parasites. Hopefully bitcoin can bypass the dollar and give the productive the opportunity to work less and enjoy more.
