Did you think about looking that up at the government site responsible for giving out that info?

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency?

Why would you want to take info from here instead of there?

I'm not sure there is a max however you have to declare 10k or more in cash or cash equivalents

As far I know there is no maximum but you must declare any amount from $10,000 and above.

Just yesterday when I flew I noticed a sign to that effect, $10k or above must be declared to the TSA upon departure or arrival.

Declare $10k and above or get in trouble.

They'll likely ask a lot of questions.

I am confused.. Someone in the company that specializes in the currency conversion mentioned today that one can only bring $200 into US if that person holds US Passport

Is that right?

Thanks!

No way 200 dollars-thats too low an amount. One can easily bring upto 10000 dollars. Even for amount more then that, one just needs to fill out some form and some officer may ask 1-2 questions just to mek sure that the money is legitimate.

<= $10K (in negotiable monetary instruments), no declaration; > $10K (in negotiable monetary instruments) , declaration (form FinCen 105: http://www.fincen.gov/forms/files/fin105_cmir.pdf).

There is no upper limit.

The reulation applies only to negotiable monetary instruments which does not include un-endorsed (blank) checks or credit cards, for example.
