And now that guy is driving a garbage truck instead of tossing cans. What's your point?
That's a rather crude example, but I doubt they spent a lot of time developing it either. Seems like it would be easy to make bot that posts on internet forums; search for topics, interpret the gist of posts, and generate a response.

There was someone driving the truck before. And "driving" will be automated before long.
Nothing wrong with automating any task where it's cheaper to do so, but the pool of viable jobs where humans have a competitive advantage is guaranteed to shrink.

Even if that were not true, you've freed up Labor to perform other tasks.
Again, you either have a serious Skills mismatch (meaning you don't have enough people with the right skills for those jobs) or a geographic mismatch (meaning people are refusing to relocate to take open jobs).
