I don't know where you're at but at some point buying a cheap apartment would make more sense than renting??

And it would be an asset

You're right, no need to buy there.

You can move and buy a proper home later

Even by the government's own admission, Millennials are worse off than young people of previous generations...
The millennials I know don't get drafted and sent off to war...

Millennials I know are earning 6 figures right out of college... I work with a lot of nurses... average new hire is 24 to 28 and pay in the SF Bay Area is about $50 an hour for nurses.

One couple that started as high school sweethearts earn over 220k one year out of school... she is an RN and he is a Oakland Police Officer. Both the first in their families to go to college... her family is from the Philippines and he is African American.

If you want to talk costs... my first apple computer and printer cost me 4 months wages and was over $3,000

My bosses first cell phone was $1500 and 35 cents a minute.

Kids today have the world at their fingertips... no more taking the bus to the library... they have the library in the palm of their hand.

My point is each generation has to make it's own way... and being sent off to war against your will is bigger than anything.

That's not incredible money for the area. It's probably no better COL adjusted than in flyover country.

Well... form my vantage point it's darn good...

Story after story of kids today have limited to no prospects... just not seeing it with our nurses and local law enforcement.

Minimum wage in my city is $12.55 an hour...

Fresh Grand RN about 4 times that.

None of my neighbors, mostly retired have even made anywhere near that...

Mom does quite nicely on her 24k social security here....
