I mean, the athlete does the work, the shoe company makes the goods but yet the agent can make a GOOD living just by talking to a company for the athlete which to me does not seem necessary.

We dealt with a sports agent....although they are in it for them self and not in the first place for the athlete...they know this world the best and sometimes use other athletes to get another one a deal at the same time...so if we sign with brand..., you have to give a deal to this upcoming player and this famous athlete will sign...
It is a complete sharks world.....been there with a young child and if i knew everything upfront I might have done things different. I also have to give them positive remarks because they have sources nobody else has.
To me it is so sad that we know so many nice teenagers who couldn't go to College anymore because they signed a deal with the management company and were promissed all kinds of things and never got it and in the end something happened and because they had signed with IMG or Octagon they were not allowed to take the scholarship for a NCAA school. Many of the parents don't have money to pay for it them self so they ended up at McDonalds...very very sad!
