So now the credit card companies are funding terrorism? I suppose if the US government is squeezing their flow of money from their normal sources their solution for funding terrorism is CHARGE IT!

"Between 2005 and 2008, he opened credit card accounts with Bank of America, Chase, Capital One, Discover and Citibank and ran up a debt of more than $50,000. When he filed for bankruptcy, Zazi said he hadn't worked in two months."

(It didn't seem to stop the Afghan National from flying between Colorado and NY)

denninger covered this quite well and he also tied into well fargo and acorn for a trifecta:
http://market-ticker.denninger.net/archives/1449-Corruption-Banks-Lending-UNSECURED-To-Terrorists.html (broken link)

so basically taxpayers were stuck bailing out the banks because they chose to give their money to unsecured, unqualified, and often illegal recipients.

as he summed it up so succinctly:

HOW IN THE HELL DO OUR BANKING REGULATORS ALLOW THIS SORT OF OUTRIGHT FRAUDULENT GRANTING OF CREDIT? $50,000 IN UNSECURED CREDIT LINES TO A FREAKING DELIVERY DRIVER WHO APPEARS TO BE A FOREIGN NATIONAL WITH NO ASSETS IN THE UNITED STATES AGAINST WHICH TO SECURE THE LOAN?

THE BANKS THAT WE BAILED OUT FAILED TO STOP THIS CRAP ALL THE WAY UP TO MARCH OF THIS YEAR AT LEAST (WHEN THIS GUY FILED BANKRUPTCY) AND PROBABLY STILL ARE DOING IT!

and i would ask, more importantly why are we stuck paying for it? i would suggest that any citizen that has their money in wells fargo, BOA, or citibank pull that money and put it into a responsible bank that is not offering illegals better deals than our own citizens. (if you read the article). i will be moving money from BOA this coming week.

I wonder if it will mean that you are a terrorist if you run up too much debt and then try to absolve yourself.

That would be epic.
