Nope..! Home Depot..! She worked for HD for about ten years, was then promoted to Expo Design Center, which is, excuse me, WAS the HD high end store. They were speciality stores located in the expensive area and depended on the rich folks to keep going. I couldn't afford to walk in the door. When HD decided to close that section of the company after the economy died, they dumped everyone and didn't even allow then to transfer back to a HD store.
A year ago she received gifts and atta boys for 20 years with HD, and 10 years with Expo, and six months later she was out the door...
She made too much money and had too much seniority, so no HD stores wanted those people. They would rather hire minimum wage people. Loyalty doesn't get you very far today..! It's all about the bottom line.

I don't feel guilty - as I look for work everyday - but I am tired of it. And I won't even touch on the financial disaster it has caused! I want a job!

Wow, I used to work for a company that inventoried HD and Expo. I could never figure out how HD was going to make Expo work and now with rich folks getting poorer in many cases, it didn't in the end.

I guess that's all I can chime in on thsi thread. Day 2 of being employed again. A bunch of darn entry level safety supervisor types jobs e-mail me to say they aren't going to be filled after all, but I did get a lab tech job through a temp agency (yeah, that one was a first--for me and me being this temp agency's first hire) instead.

Unlike the job I had to reach for out of Christmas break, this one does not look like it is losing clients and won't have trouble keeping me occupied.
