Yes, it's time for the citizens to step up and take control back from those who have stolen it.

"Headline-grabbing Tea Party slogans sure could make one think Americans have come down with a bad case of whine-flu.

They -- Big Bad government, Obama, Wall Street, or Socialists -- did it to me, and they are so scary all I can do is defend myself: Call a talk show to blast them. Join a protest. Buy a gun. Or secede.

Yes, there’s a lot of blaming going on. But fortunately, very fortunately, there is another America. It is a much bigger America. It is made up of do-ers -- of builders, not blamers."

Allow me to politely disagree. I placed this topic in business since that it the topic of the story quoted.

That was an enlightening article Tightwad. Thank you for posting it.
Sadly I think we have some fallout from the political forum here with the bashing on your source.

From a business perspective, I am a firm believer in the little guy and small business. CSA's and Coop's are an excellent way to go.

That article is so right..time to tell big business where to go. They offshored the jobs so we must adapt. They don't care about us so we better start or we'll be forever slaves to the corporate whim.

For those who posted before me..here's the last few paragraphs of that OP article that sums it up nicely:

"Imagine what would happen if we stopped blaming and started living democracy. Imagine what could change if we realized our power to remove big money from its dominance of our political system so that, for example, huge public subsidies now supporting mega-corporations and policies concentrating wealth were instead stimulating a democratic economy.

Imagine what could change if we directed those tax dollars to give a leg up instead to sustainable family farms, cooperatives and independent businesses, those who return wealth to our workers and our communities.

Plus, moving from powerlessness to power is a lot more fun."

That article is so far from socialist it's not funny. You didn't bother reading it, did you ?

Coops and CSA's are not socialist, not by a long shot.

This was a great interview I heard last week. Of course being Fox News the rest of the show they tried to down play what Trump said, but it is definitely the direction this country needs to go.

Good interview. Trump called a good one..call their bluff and raise taxes.
I think we'd suffer for a while since the physical factories would have to be either built or dusted off but I think Americans would suck it up and bear it for a while knowing we were getting back to "Made in America".

Speaking of Geithner..he was also in India promising them he'd block any US protectionist measures against IT being offshored.

I think people would actually go for raised taxes if they could trust the govt to break down the deficit with it... but unfortunately NO ONE trusts the politicians to do any such thing.
