I'll tell ya what 6FOOT3, you and I can blow up all the dams in New Mexico, and then dam the water just past El Paso, and turn the wet lands there into a huge lake.. as well as parts of Mexico and El Paso.. heh. =)

Yeap i hear ya on that but unfortunately that belongs to the Feds on that one and also i'm sure New Mexico would also fight to keep them in their state.

El Paso is a good place. It is very entreprenuerial and people here are friendly. the folks visiting the Sun Bowl event could not get over that fact.

The weather here is gorgeous, but it is not cheap! I find El Paso to be pretty expensive, housing prices are high, and the property taxes are completely insane.

Agreed that Texas property taxes are relatively high (although remember no income taxes in Texas), but I really disagree about the others. Just curious as to where you are comparing things like housing costs? Housing costs in El Paso...and most of Texas for that matter...are some of the cheapest in the nation.

Maybe compared to living in the New Orleans area before Katrina, El Paso is expensive. Property taxes in Texas are much higher than in Louisiana.
