Hello EL Pasoans,

Anyone in here have any info on land/home on HomeStead North? I've searched all over but not much info about this area. Looking to see what utilities they have available in that area, specifically, high speed internet. Is this area safe? Looking to buy a land and build a home, maybe raise some farm animals. Any info will be much appreciated. Thank you all!

You can find info on this (City Data) forum here:

Homestead Meadows North

There are two different communities designated "North" and "South" on either side of US-62/180.

wow, never heard of it and had to look it up. Must be way out there in the middle of nowhere.

I bet you could call Time Warner Cable (is it Spectra or something now); or DISH to see if they service that area.

You could also try calling a few County offices -- agricultural extension, infrastructure or the Sheriff's Dept. to see if anyone knows something about the area.

And, of course, a real estate agent.

Not too far outside the east El Paso city limits. Just more of the infill that is occurring between the city limit and the Hueco Mtns. Sandhill desert lands that are prone to the usual blowing dirt during wind storms. Meadows South is more densely populated whereas North has larger lot sizes with more open sandy land.

I think Homestead Meadows North and South are collectively called Montana Vista in and around El Paso.

That's the more recent name for the area but not sure what the "official" name would be on someone's title if buying property in that area now.

I do appreciate the replies, I'm still not getting enough info about this area. It's only about 15-20 minutes from the city. I may have to take a trip down there. Thanks everyone.

I currently live in Homestead Meadows North, it is not Montana Vista, it is its own neighborhood. Montana Vista is farther East down Montana. Utilities: They have their own water co-op, we rent a propane tank, have a septic system and use EP electric. We use a local wireless internet service, and it is excellent. We run a home business and use it all day, every day. We have horses, pigs, goats and chickens. Most of our neighbors tend to have some type of animal, mostly horses. The area is very safe, the neighborhood is 4 miles off the main road-so tucked away. We've lived here four years and have never had a problem.

Really? I've never heard the area east of Flager to Melody Ann and north of Greg referred to as anything but Montana Vista except in government references and some real estate listings.
