Yeah pretty ridiculous. I don't want to vote third party again, but it's looking more and more like it every day.

Let's hope someone comes shining through with realistic ideas. I, for one, will be paying very close attention.

Agree. A business-minded guy like Trump is what this country needs right now. Liberal acedemic theory is not going to get us out of this recession and I can't believe anybody is seriously considering Palin. I would vote Trump over Obama in 2012 if they were my choices.

Actually, he wouldn't be acceptable to the base of the Republican Party: He's pro-choice and he's not anti-gay.

This might be the stealth candidate for the other thread. I'd have to give it more thought. The Taj Mahal is my favorite AC casino. That's about as close as I come to relating to him. Never watched his TV show. Can't even remember what he and Rosie O'Donnell were fighting about. I'd vote for him over that other guy (Bloomie) from NY.

Why do you say the base of the party will not accept someone who is not anti-gay and many Republicans also think abortion does not belong in politics. period.

A hard stance against abortion and gay rights is the litmus test of the Christian Right in a Presidential candidate. No other issues matter. A candidate cannot win the GOP primary without support of the evangelical community. If Republicans were to run a pro-choice or pro-gay candidate, there would almost certainly be a third party "values" candidate who would sweep the South and steal just enough votes from the Republican in the rest of the nation to ensure a Democratic victory.

i do not totally agree with you. What about McCain? He was luke warm on both issues. We live in NWA as you know and our church is certainly to the right of center: I can assure you most of our membership would support a candidate that was for equal rights period. they may not approve of the life some live and they may feel homosexuality is a sin, but they would still support the candidate. A totally pro choice candidate would be a little tougher, but even then, you would be surprised. I think the liberals do not totally understand how many who lean right, even the evangelicals (I am not talking about the nut cases) compromise when necessary.

All I can say, is that someone better show up for the party. Because I am not voting for our current president...anyone who can freeze wages of federal employees, who don't make that much anyway...forget it. He threw his own people under the bus.

Plus, I would love to hear what the xenophobs will say about his (2 outta 3) non-American wives. And I would love to hear what the "fiscal responsibility" TPers would have to say about "The Donald"s multiple bankruptcies and shady business deals in Mexico, etc, etc.

(LOL....2012 is gonna be BIG FUN)
Ivanka would have to be the First Lady. She's the only woman in his life with a brain, and she's very smart and savvy. Having said that, I do like The Donald and he probably could do some good things for our country.
