I will not argue about what you are saying as I don't have any proof, but I will say, comparing what happens in the military to this is like bananas and apples. It has already been determined, one serving in the military is an exception.

We have a couple of long threads in the Chicago Forum on this issue and the related issue of the mayor race if you want to check them out:

https://www.city-data.com/forum/chica...m-emanuel.html

https://www.city-data.com/forum/chica...ibilities.html

For some strange reason they have been locked. Perhaps some of you can ask them to be reopened if you wish to post in them?

You didn't hear? Some of Chico's deals looked shady when held to the light, Braun could not raise any money. DelValle started to look like a thoughtful, credible candidate. Davis had a minor heart attack and black folks began to think him too old and frail for the post (another Stroger!).

Then, in late January, 2011 DelValle managed to put together a coalition of black folks and Hispanic folks to beat back Rahm's efforts! He got 38% of the vote to make it to a runoff against Rahm. Then, in April, 2011 Miguel won!

It could happen.

I disagree.

Emanuel is the next RULER of Chicago.

Next will be Ruler of Illinois.

After that, Ruler of the State Senate.

Of course the US Senate after that.

Then and only then will he secure nomination as President of the United States in 2012.

It's in the cards........

Q: How many Chicago mayors have been charged with a crime in office or afterward in the last 100 years? Give up?

A: NONE.

The answer would be different for NYC, Providence, Boston, Detroit, Baltimore, Newark, Atlanta, DC and other spots, just to name a few.
