...and that will likely be Marco Rubio. FL will likely pick up two more electoral votes next year to 29 (current level is 27). The Hispanic vote will also likely take to Rubio and boost interest among that segment of the population in the rest of the country.
Just speculating here, but the GOP is not going with anyone less than stellar in charisma in 2012, whoever gets the presidential nomination.

I think the VP should play a part, but unless he/she comes from a big state it isn't going to make much difference. Yes, a Rubio would really help the Republicans. Now, will he consider running? That will depend on the candidate I am guessing. He would probably be ok with Perry or Romney.
