If Rick Perry had his way as president, we would no longer have Social Security which means if you are 70 years old and don't have anything saved up, you're gonna have to find a job at Walmart greeting customers at the door and you'll lose all the money taken out of your pay check through the years for Social Security. What a way to spend your retirement years. This guy is a nut and he will never get elected. Unless there is another dark horse for the GOP, Obama is getting re-elected.
Rick Perry called Social Security unconstitutional. If he wins the presidency wouldn't he be obligated to end something he thought was unconstitutional, since he would take the oath to uphold the Constitution?

Even if social security were to be abolished, what exactly makes you think that all prior obligations would simply be thrown away? You're scare mongering.

There lies the rub. I've paid FICA for nearly 40 years, so stealing is constitutional? Funny how the fed gives trillions of tax payer money to wall street and low and behold the fed is short a couple of trillion----rob the elderly that's the ticket! Sick bastids who, by the way, will never get away with it, ever.

That's really not how it works.
Yes, it is. He could have his justice department make the case to the Supreme Court that the program is unconstitutional.
If you are receiving it, you keep receiving it.
If you haven't paid in, you won't ever start.
If you have paid in you get what you paid in back to invest for retirement.

I could go for this, it would help me retire earlier than age 55.

The president is not obligated to go through the books and make judgments on the constitutionality of previously enacted laws.
