We all know Perry has to be frightened of going face to face in a debate with Ron Paul. Some say that Romney visibly sweats when questions about the Constitution come up. Now Obama I guess might be frightened Paul will win and is throwing boomerangs like asking to speak to Congress the night of the debate. (Imagine how low class can you GET!)
GOP operatives fear lasting Ron Paul problem | Byron York | Politics | Washington Examiner (http://washingtonexaminer.com/politics/2011/08/gop-operatives-fear-lasting-ron-paul-problem - broken link)
Seems like the media took the criticism to heart and have started giving Paul more coverage. And the result appears to be a decrease in Paul's polling #s. Could it be that people just didn't really know what they were supporting when they chose Paul?
I don't think that is the case; I'm really starting to think that the disconnect between the media and the GOP base is just so huge that voters on the right completely distrust it. They will support whichever candidate the media seems to want to tell them not to. When the media was ignoring Ron Paul, regular Americans took that as a sign that he must be good.
And what regular Americans would that be
The NJ Shore folks or Boardwalk Empire....
Why, the 15% or so that he used to get in national polls. That's a big chunk of people. Other candidates wish they could have gotten that much support.
He has integrity and is consistent. He's everything a politician shouldn't be. More than anything he's a libertarian so major part of his ideology don't gel with the republican establishment.

And unfortunately that is why Ron Paul faces an up hill battle to win the election, or the primary for that matter. Too many Americans care more about those idiots on NJ Shore and other reality tv shows to actually do the proper research about the candidates, and would rather believe the BS fed to them by the bought and paid for media. In the meantime we'll be presented with 2 candidates where people will decide on "voting for the lesser of 2 evils" and nothing will change. Wash, rinse, repeat...

I'm glad you said that. I grow tired of hearing libertarians being lumped into what passes for today's republicans.
