I've been saying all along that Cain doesn't stand a chance to be his party's representative because of this fundamental reason. His policies don't matter, but the problem of his race is a glaring problem among GOP supporters.

Is Herman Cain's race the real elephant in the room?

I think YOUR views are racist.
There are three things he has to overcome.
Lack of a name or history.
No experience in politics.
Getting all of America to understand and like his 999 plan.

I think he is a smart guy. I think he'd be a very good President.
The tea party seems to like him and they have been getting other various black people elected in office where there have been 70% white districts because the black guy was conservative.

I think you are out of touch in this case.
There are reasons he could fail, but not the race issue.

Race is always a problem for racist liberals.

For everybody else we vote according to which candidate fits our ideology, beliefs, concerns, best.

If he loses, neo-progressives like the OP will say it's because the Republicans are racist. If he wins, they'll throw the racist U-T term around.

Disgusting that you would even start such a thread. It diminishes all of the hard work, respect, and intelligence that Mr. Cain has earned and worked hard for. He wouldn't be my first choice, but is absolutely my second choice...oops, does that make me racist though?

Jeneane Garafalo, is that you?

Of course policy matters. If it didn't the far left wouldn't have to resort to playing the race card ad nauseum due to Obama's own failed policies.

No but you certainly like to make threads on racial matters.

ETA: His name is Herman not Hermain.

So you are scared of a black tea party supporter who would take the race card out of the election.
But the left only has oen choice: making Americas scared of whoever the republican nominate because the left can not stand in front of the American people on the merit of what they have done.
So their election choices will be try to scare Americans about the republican nominee rather than talk issues

Libs would try to leave the race card in play saying that Cain is only there just as a token in order to negate the race issue. And since he is an oreo, he is more than willing to play the part of being used for white interests.

They will sound stupid, but it's all they would have.
