I think Rand tends to be a little more establishment than his father does. He knows that to have a future in the GOP you have to be to some extent, but you are right that he will have a difficulty being both Tea Party and establishment. Rubio and several others have the same problem. They have boxed themselves into a corner with their Tea Party affiliation.

The Tea Party has become the new Moral Majority. Sad but true.

The media knows this very well.

It is the media that has painted the Tea People, that have proved to be the silent majority, as something they are not.
Because the media has never understood what 2010 was. They have been looking for a leader for the past 3 years.
There is no leader. We are all individuals and we lead ourselves.
Spot. On.

What people here on CD commonly refer to as the "Tea Party" is not the real Tea Party. The real Tea Party would never support a neo-con.

you could be right, but time will tell. He has said a couple of pretty far out things. Of course most politicians and even most of us average people have as well I guess.

What is "pretty far out" about freedom and liberty? I'd like to know which policy of Rands is "pretty far out"?
