Caller: If you’re fortunate enough to be nominated, would you consider having Sarah Palin as your running mate?
Gingrich: She is certainly one of the people you would look at. I am a great admirer of hers and she was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska, she’s somebody who I think brings a great deal to the possibility of helping in government and that would be one of the possibilities. There are also some very important Cabinet positions that she could fill very, very well. I can’t imagine anybody who would do a better job of driving us to an energy solution than Gov. Palin, for example. Tell her that she would certainly be on the list of one of the people we would consider
After the election, they can put this ticket in the same folder marked "failure" with Ron Paul and whoever he chooses.
Funny how the Paul haters have such a hard time hiding their rabid hate for the man...why bring him up in a totally unrelated thread? All of the Paul haters constantly admonish Paul supporters because of how frequently they bring him up in conversations where he is never mentioned...clearly it works both ways I guess.
He was being very polite and definitely noncommital....he NEVER said he would have her as VP.....I think Newt isn't so old he can't remember the last election....
However, he may invite her for an "interview" , hop her like the horny rabbit he is, and Repugs would still vote for him....
Since the Repub frontrunner status changes every six hours how about a Romney/Gingrich/Perry/Bachman/Santorum/Paul/Paul/Huntsman ticket----that way we wont have to change frontrunners quite as often.

Well... it is an election thread - and RP is running in the election - so I don't really see it as a stretch.
I don't hate Ron Paul. In fact the guy has some pretty good ideas. He's a bit of a nut on a lot of subjects and I believe he is unelectable. His followers seem like a cult.

I with you on that much 100%. That ticket has FAIL written all over it already, and it's still only theoretical.
Obviously, Palin didn't do much better than Miss South Carolina at demonstrating her political savvy and intelligence in 2008. Tea Party might love her, but 70% of America isn't sold on her having much brains to speak of.
Gingrich/Palin would be "I swear, this time I won't screw around on my wife. No way I'd do it when I'm President! Honest! You can trust me!" meets "I'm not an idiot, I'm not an idiot! I'll prove to the world that I'm actually smart! US Americans can trust me, even if they don't have maps! Who needs maps anyways when you can see Russia from your front porch?"
With that much baggage, you don't even have time to try to send a political message to the American people.

I too am baffled that you're bringing up Ron Paul. Ron Paul is an outsider that the GOP didn't have any way of shutting out completely.
Newt is a Repug mainstream guy and a GOP establishment favorite -- which is a pretty sad commentary on the GOP establishment's intelligence and decision making ability.
Gingrich and Paul are nothing alike.
