Wrong he strapped grandma body on the roof of the car. Clark left the dogs leash tied to the bumper and as the cop said poor thing tried to stay up to pace for the first 12 miles

Romney's Cruel Canine Vacation - TIME
Massachusetts's animal cruelty laws specifically prohibit anyone from carrying an animal "in or upon a vehicle, or otherwise, in an unnecessarily cruel or inhuman manner or in a way and manner which might endanger the animal carried thereon." An officer for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals responded to a description of the situation saying "it's definitely something I'd want to check out."

Next you know people are going to stuff their dogs in crates and shove them in the barely pressurized cargo hold of an airplane, all alone in the cold, nobody to comfort them, while they sit ten feet above them snacking on peanuts and sipping a Jack & Coke. Get a rope!

Got a link for that?
Carrying an animal in a carrying case is neither illegal or cruel.

Did you read the law? Strapping an animal to the roof of a car is considered animal cruelty.

Actually I have a major problem with putting a pet in a position where they are taking 60+ mph winds to their face and not being able to get out of it..

Have you never had so much wind in your fact that you couldnt even breath? I have, very scary.

Lightbulb Mitt Romney strapped family dog to roof of his car for a 12 hour road trip

You'd think a guy with Romney's wealth could have left the family dog at a decent kennel while they went on their trip.

Of course, this isn't a case of limited resources. It's a case of seriously flawed judgement.
