You guys are all wrong.

By make it fair, it is not depending Romney to pay more. It is depending you tax less.

Why give good money to the government to waste? If government downsize itself by 80 to 90% then we would not be arguing this problem. Everyone would be paying like 5 or 10% flat. Or even tax free like pre 1913.

I dont begrude Mitt for making tons of money but income should be income, I dont care how you make it. Again, folks like mitt and buffett to pay less than their secretaries is ludicrous. I also dont agree that there should be a ceiling on social security, maybe they should lower the percentage, but all income should be taxed. Its not right that someone making less than $106,800 has to pay soc sec tax on 100% of their income, and someone who makes over that, is only taxed up to that amount.

Default Definition of tax fairness

I saw this thread and all the posters were talking about how Romney is "cheating" them by only paying only 15% and should be paying more.

Tax Fairness: Mitt Pays 15%

I think you guys all got it wrong. If you want fairness, then demand the government to tax you the same low rate as Romney.

I am not a fan of Romney, but a big fan of small government. The solution to a smaller government is simple, don't give them your hard earned money.

Don't demand the wealthy to pay more, it will only create class warfare and then more regulations. DEMAND THE GOVERNMENT TO TAX YOU LESS. Force the government to downsize.

If you want the wealthy to pay more, the government benefit
If you demand the government to tax you less, YOU benefit.

I don't know about you. I am happier to keep more of my money than having the wealthy keep less of theirs.

LOL Yeah, maybe that.

My suspicions are that, by agreeing to release the most current one only, that gives his high paid accountants and bookkeepers a chance to make some "adjustments" between now and April.

For what it's worth, Romney is talking about his net tax rate here, not his tax bracket.

Remember John Kerry? He makes way more than Mitt (thanks to his wife) and pays less than 10% net.

Our family is in the 15% bracket, but after all is said and done we pay virtually no federal income tax.

Good for him.

I can't wait until 100% of my income is from passive sources.

Me, too! LOL

And of course Mittens says that almost $400,000 in speaking fees isn't very much. After all, he was willing to bet Rick Perry $10,000 to prove some point.

You make an outstanding case against the "benefits" of SS!

Now....do you invest?

Suppose you miraculously received some ambition.

You take that ambition and decide to invest your hard earned (already taxed) money in an investment property.

Do you want that income taxed at your normal tax rate, or 15%?
