Poll: 7 in 10 expect Romney to win GOP nomination

Quote:
We've only had votes in two states, but a new poll shows more people believe it's inevitable that Mitt Romney will become the Republican presidential nominee.
A staggering 72% of Republicans and GOP-leaning independents in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll expect Romney to be the nominee -- a jump of 32 percentage points from mid-December.

He may get the nomination, he may not. I know I won't be voting for him regardless.

I am really hating this idea of having Romney being shoved down our throats. Sure, 7 out of 10 expects him to win the nomination, but did anyone ask them if they WANT him to win the nomination? I bet 7 out of 10 will say NO. They are being forced into this, like a bad arranged marriage. The marriage may take place, but expect a revolt and divorce soon.

The media and the Republican pundit enforcers have been repeating the theme that Romney will win for months now. Propaganda works unfortunately. People have bought it and accepted it as just something that already has been decided, even though only a small fraction of America's voters have spoken.

The funny thing is, Romney will lose the general election. Remember all that "inevitable" garbage we got about McCain, and all the garbage about McCain is the best chance to beat Obama? Then Obama won. Guess what. History repeats itself.

You can compare Romney and McCain. You cannot compare 2008 and 2012.

Will agree there.

It was almost obvious a democrat was going to win in 2008, since people disliked Bush so much and the majority of people are stupid.

Yep.

And McCain still won close to 46% of the popular vote and who won was determined by about 800,000 votes in a relatively small number of swing states.

Even with him choosing the ditz from Wasilla as his running mate.

Even with Obama's charisma (which he won't be able to use to his advantage so much this time around).

I'm one of the strongest Romney supporters on this forum, but it's only because I feel he's the only one with a chance of winning the general election and he's absolutely preferable to Obama.

Yes I can. Conservatives are even more desperate for a candidate to represent them and the GOP establishment is attempting to b*tch-slap them again with a crony of the big government conservative establishment. This time it will be even more insulting than 2008.

Default Did Romney & GS just buy all the votes?

Mitt Romney is the best candidate Government Sachs can buy. Is it coincidence that a Spanished based firm whose list of venture capital list includes among them Government Sachs and Bain also just purchased the United States vote reporting company?

Naaaaaa, I'm certain there won't be any voter fraud just because there is no chain of command over US votes in the 2012 election.

If you are not furious you are not paying attention!
