He thinks that Romney will say virtually anything to get elected and he's a slick salesman. And his campaign ads are way too negative against the other candidates. He also thinks that Romney is too liberal to be considered a GOP candidate.

My dad thinks that Santorum is a joke that came out of nowhere and thinks he should just drop out ASAP.

Then, he said that Gingrich is probably the most qualified candidate to be president, despite all the baggage he carries. And that if Gingrich has debates against Obama, he would win every debate hands down.

Finally, my dad said that Paul is also a good candidate who can be trusted, but admitted that he won't be the nominee. He also said that Paul should have kept his mouth shut about the foreign policy stuff, because it scared too many people away from supporting him.

My dad said that if the primary were held today in his state, he would vote for either Gingrich or Paul.

Is my dad just stupid or what?

What Ron Paul honestly says is what has 85% of the population not voting for him.

Nope, except for his take on Santorum, its pretty much my feelings, although with Romney, I dont think he is really that slick rather than just too amiable , and I also am very turned off by the negativity against the conservative candidates, not smart.

Because ppl dont like being spoken to honestly. No one is perfect and you wont agree with 100% of any candidate but hes the only one who is realistically trying to change things for the better.

Gingrinch is a close second for realism but he is to uncertain and flip floppy.
Santorum is just batsh** crazy
Romney is Obama in a republican suit, like Obama is Bush in a democrat suit. Guys like that will never change anything.

I would never vote for any of them, but if I had to pick a favorite it would probably be Gingrich. I think he is quite intelligent, and his wit and debating style remind me, in a positive way, of those old timey, populist, bombastic, Southern politicians who made politics interesting. Paul would probably be a close second since he isn't afraid to speak his mind and on a few issues he is better then anyone.

Your dad is right, Gingrich is the best republican candidate running. If he is not the republican party nominee I would early vote for president Obama if it was possible.

Your dad says Romney will say anything to get elected but not Gingrich? Gingrich is the king of pandering.
