Losing Republicans should not be confused with losing conservatives. Conservatism has all but left the Republican party.

Go figure when you have Santorum as the "conservative" candidate.

Because conservatism in America has ceased being an intellectual and principled movement and devolved into lowest common denominator religious pandering and pure reactionary politics. Great conservative/libertarian/small government thinkers like Edmund Burke, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, F.A. Hayek, Ludwig von Mises, or even Ayn Rand have been traded in for Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Sarah Palin, and Rick Santorum. These are intellectual lightweights who pander to the lowest common denominator. They have equated conservatism with killing Muslims, indefinite detention, perpetual warfare, Christian evangelicalism, and lack of education.

A truly principled conservative dedicated to free markets, free people, and small government like Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance in a party of excessive war dominated by neocons and chickenhawks.

Hardly. You do realize the two mainstream parties are not the only games in town, don't you?

Get a clue, not everyone that rejects the crappy choices the Republican party is attempting to ram down our throats is a Democrat. The majority of us have little use for either party.

Do you have a link to support your premise that Paul is losing actual conservatives?

How many people in congress are not members of either the Democrat or Republican party? Who was the last President that was not a Republican or a Democrat? In fact you are wrong......the majority of us are either Democrats or Republicans. We have a 2 party system in this country, like it or not.
