But his falling approval rating in the last month extended to his handling of both the economy and foreign policy, the poll found.
Sharp as the drop in Mr. Obama’s approval rating was in the Times/CBS News poll, it was not in isolation.
The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll, released on Monday, also reported a drop in Mr. Obama’s overall approval rating, to 46 percent from 50 percent last month.
The latest tracking poll from Gallup, also released Monday, showed Mr. Obama with an approval rating of 49 percent.
If they dropped support only in the last month, they weren't paying attention to all the screw-ups before that.

Then, from March 7 to 10--a week into the national media firestorm surrounding Rush Limbaugh's degrading remarks about Georgetown Law student and liberal activist Sandra Fluke--Washington Post/ABC conducted another poll. It found Obama's approval rating at 46 percent, down four points from February, and his disapproval rating at 50 percent, up four points from February. And the thing the republicans have to worry about is the continued push for contraception laws and abortion restrictions those women will be less likely to show up for republicans, or vote for them.
A staggering 18% swing (61 percent approval to 57 percent disapproval) in the percentage of Catholics who've moved from approving his mandate to disapproving his mandate over the course of the past month was buried on the CBS website, and was also downplayed in a front page story in the NYT earlier this week, and their talking heads have been trying to spin that disastrous poll result ever since.

Where's James Carville when you really need him?
Is there a percentage of men vs women in that poll.
