29 Obama v. Romney polls so far this year:
RealClearPolitics - Election 2012 - General Election: Romney vs. Obama

All but 1 measures LV/RV.

Polls are useless this far out, in January 2010 Brown was down by 20 to coakly 3 weeks before the election, Brown won by 6 or 7% in the Election.

No, Sanrene. He basically wins. He always has basically won except for some months in 2009. Your wishful thinking won't get you any farther than it did in 2008.

That says it all. The GOP has gone so far off the rails that they're now eagerly devouring their own.

The first poster on here who lives within reality and thinks for themselves.... please post soon and claim your prize

The wonders of the tv brainwashing mechanism are showing their powers wonderfully so far on this thread

Who are these people who think Obama is doing a good job? Reagan would be considered a RINO today

Some comments so far from the reality that some should consider treatment

I'm still waiting to read a post from you on politics.

You seem to only make snide remarks about others' posts while hiding behind an "Indie" moniker.

If you're what you claim to be, then make some independent observations and post some independent opinions. This forum needs an independent viewpoint.

The best way to deal with poll numbers is not by one or two polls but by a general average of polls put out there RealClearPolitics - Election Other - President Obama Job Approval. You'll notice that some polls like cbs and pew don't release many polls, but others like fox and bloomburg do more often. Even more so are rasmussen along with gallup which put out a few polls a week.

You'll notice that cbs had him at 41 percent and gallup also had him at that at the day of the poll in question. Now there were the only 2 polls saying this mind you, and because of shared polling data its conceivable this was an outlier. You'll notice that now gallup has him at 46 *48 percent the other day* and that all other polls are consistent. Also take notice that this is the statistical average he has had for most of his time in office, i.e. between 46-48 percent. The lowest it has gone has been 42.3 and the highest is a bit above 52 percent. What should be worrying for the right wingers is the fact rasmussen has him doing so well since rasmussen always has had a history of skewing too far right in their polling data. Now of course this is for races, so it is possible they use a different pool for races vs preside natal polling. Anyway the point is that the presidents numbers are pretty much stable, and i imagine next month the cbs poll will be up again.
That depends on what poll you are depending on and when it is being taken. This also shows how vulerable polls can be and why we souldn't put to much into them until it gets closer to election time. A few points one way or the other, at this stage means little. I will add, overall his numbers really should be stronger.

What is the point of polls in any case? I just completely ignore them. I don't trust them at all and I really don't care what the results are anyway. I think they are for people with lemming like characters. They like to identify themselves with a particular group with a particular mind set.
They now seen to be taking polls on just about everything. What a colossal waste of time and money unless it's actually market research and it is done with the purpose of increasing sales.
