Come on Wisconsin! Romney leads among "Republicans" by 14 points in your state (per PPP), but the Democrats are overwhelmingly choosing Santorum.....if you are a Republican considering to vote for Santorum today - ask yourself why Democrats want Santorum to win and think about it before you choose!

Voted in South Baltimore at about 8:30 a.m. Other than me, there were 2 people at the polling location. Everything went fine. I voted for Romney of course.

The other two voters were also Republicans who voted Romney. The Democrat election judge jokingly told me "See you in November" after I voted. I told her yes indeed.

No electioneering around my polling site, but on my walk to work I saw a single Ben Cardin girl outside a different polling spot. She asked me to vote for him and I laughed at her.

If you don't mind me asking, who d0 you support for Senate to take on Cardin? I voted for Bongino. Unfortunately I dont think we have any chance in November anyway.
Maryland has some good races going on today, both the Dem and GOP races in District 6, the GOP senate primaries, possibly even the Dem primary if Muse has a good showing over Cardin. I think the presidential primary here is the one I'm least interested in, we know how that's gonna go!

I think that tonight could be a trifecta for Romney.

I actually voted for Douglas. That said, Bongino is fine with me and either one is going to get destroyed in the general.

Independents and Democrats are generally lumped into the same category in these polls, but when broken out its much heavier Independents than Republicans. So you could have some conservative Independents who don't allign themselves with the GOP. You also may have some culturally conservative Democrats who might vote Dem locally, but tend to vote GOP nationally, especially insome of the rural areas. You notice this a bit in portions of the south, Appalchia and the non Pittsburgh metro portions of western PA. Democrats who vote Dem locally, but GOP nationally. You see the exact reverse in many suburban areas. Point being you have numerous reasons why Santorum is up among this crowd. I would bet dollars to donuts that you will se many more Dems crossover from rural more conservative portions of the state than you will from Milwaukee or liberals in and around Madison. In fact I think its very likely Santorum's worst district will be the 2nd.

According to PPP - A pro-Democrat polling firm:

"The only thing keeping Santorum competitive in Wisconsin is the state's open primary. He actually trails Romney 50-36 with Republican voters but 40% of those saying they're likely to vote are either independents or Democrats and with those folks Santorum leads 37-32, making it more competitive overall. If those non-Republicans don't actually end up turning out Romney can expect to win by a wider margin."

Who is more appealing to Independents that tend to be moderates more than extremes? Romney or Santorum? A previous poll that I can't find says that Democrats could go as high as 5 to 1 in favor of Santorum over Romney.

Santorum: We'd Be "Anxious" To Join With Newt To "Make Sure We Have A Conservative Nominee" | RealClearPolitics

If Romney gets the hat trick tonight, I wonder if Santorum will quickly rush to Newt for a joint ticket going into the April 24th contests that Romney should sweep if he can sway Pennsylvania.

Romney primed for Tuesday sweep - Public Policy Polling
Your link tends to prove my point 60% GOP, 37% Independents, 3% Democrats.
