Evidently the Obama team had this story and had made the decision to hold it until right before the Republican convention. The intention there was to force republicans to get on this narrative during the convention instead of talking about the economy.
With the WaPo running it now, they have lost this as any real issue. And with the story having factual problems, and with the sister of the alleged victim having issues with the story itself, all this really does is hurt the liberal cause.
Way to go WaPo for getting this out so soon!

Yes they did because "retractions" and "corrections" are usually buried on page 28 under a Walmart sales add and done in .02 font.
People remember headlines but never seem to read "corrections".

The left strains very hard to keep from discussing anything about the Obama record. We will have to get used to this kind of crap since they have no record to run on and have to pull out what they can.
Really when a man tells the story that he couldn't remember because he wasn't there when it reportedly happened.
