(CBS News) Presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has a slight edge over President Obama in the race for the White House in the latest CBS News/New York Times poll.
According to the survey, conducted May 11-13, 46 percent of registered voters say they would vote for Romney, while 43 percent say they would opt for Mr. Obama.
Oh..get a load of this;
25% LESS likely to back obama due to his "evolution" (ie, flip flop) on gay marriage.
We can't Trust the NYT they have an obvious Right-wing bias, in Reality Obama is winning by a landslide.

Absolutely. The desperation by the extreme right to grab onto anything they can to somehow show Willard in a positive light is getting downright laughable
The election is a long ways off. The headline number is going to shift around as it has with the CBS/NYT over the past few months. The only thing one should be looking at at this point in time is trends in a) relative favorability ratings and b) opinions on the direction the economy is moving (improving or not). In both measures Obama has the edge. The economy is improving in spite of the denials from Republicans and Americans can see that judging by the poll. And Romney continues to be viewed more negatively than favorably. That alone could spell his defeat, but an improving economy virtually assures it.

The voters will judge based on who they think can right the economy, not on who is more likeable.
67% think the economy is in bad shape.
These are bad numbers and will get even worse if the economy continues to tank.
Romney is seen as more competent to lead this economy out of the ditch obama got us into.

Well if you look at the spread from last year it was about 40%. 15% reduction should account for something shouldnt it?
As usual, the best part of these polls from the obama-media is the D/R/I party ID split. In this case, they use an unweighted party ID of 9 for the dems and a weighted party id of 6 for the dems.
Y'all have a good summer. Get some sun or maybe take a trip. Be safe.
Sometime in late September you can come back and pick up this discussion again.
Until then though... you may as well just have a circle jerk.
It's early but this gay marriage thing is simply a loser for Obama, outside of fundraising. I bet he wished he kept his mouth shut or reiterated his evolution. I bet he tries to take it back but then that'll be problematic.
Romneys pandering to the right and the GOp's continued war on women will ultimatey give Obama another win. Thread fail as usual from the OP.
