PRINCETON, NJ -- Fifty-six percent of Americans think Barack Obama will win the 2012 presidential election, compared with 36% who think Mitt Romney will win. Democrats are more likely to believe that Obama will win than Republicans are to believe Romney will. Independents are nearly twice as likely to think that Obama, rather than Romney, will prevail.
Americans See Obama as Solid Favorite to Win Election

Romney can always give it another try in 2016

Tune in next week when Gallup finds that Americans now favor Romney over Obama. The fun never ends for the partisans and the week after that, Obama is going to poll higher course most people on this forum can't even remember what they had for breakfast a couple hours later

And yet, more of them are going to vote for Mitt Romney according to most recent polls.

If that doesn't make sense, it shouldn't.

That's good. If they're so sure it's in the bag, they won't bother to vote.

To the contrary. Many voters will come out to vote for who they perceive to be a winner. They stay home if they feel their vote won't bring their guy across the finish line in 1st place.

Sure-

I can't wait until the elections. The independents, due to Obama's dismal economic performance, will not support him again. Without the support of the independents, Obama loses in a landslide.

I would imagine that CA,WA, WI, MN, IL, NY, VT, RI, CT, ME, NJ, MD, HI and DE will vote for him and that is about it. That, my friends, is a landslide.
