Wow, there are a ton of great Republican sound bites here for the Democrat's use. Like this:
Gingrich: "I'm for capitalism. I'm for people who go in to save a company. I'm for people who take real risk. But if somebody comes in and takes all the money out of your company, and then leaves you bankrupt while they go off with millions, loot companies, leave behind broken families, broken towns, people on unemployment ..."
And:
"Those of us who believe in free markets, and those of us who believe that, in fact, the whole goal of investment is entrepreneurship and job creation, would find it pretty hard to justify rich people figuring out clever legal ways to loot a company, leaving behind 1,700 families without a job."
Ouch. Even Palin piles on. I would guess that as much as Romney would like it to, Bain isn't going away. And yes, I've heard all of the justifications from the Romney supporters regarding Bain, but none of those obfuscations are going to matter to the millions of unemployed and under-employed Americans struggling to make ends meet. People who aren't paying attention yet are going to hear the soundbites during the general election, coming from people within his own party, and it's not going to have them thinking favorably of Mitt.
I didn't care about those guys in the primaries nor do I care about them now. They lied, they were disingenuous and that's why they lost. We saw right through them then, and we will now. If you think using opinions from Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry and Sarah Palin will win over independent voters... wait I will say no more. Please do that, just run ads showing Perry, Gingrich, and Palin giving their opinions. If there's anyone undecided voters love, it's Rick Perry, Sarah Palin, and Newt Gingrich! Trust me.
Also, this isn't news. We were all there. And we all saw how these vicious attacks hurt the candidates who made them.

Keep telling yourself that, tmsterp, but you have to know that this is a story that is visceral; there are actual people who have lost their jobs, their savings, their retirement, and in this economy, that's a powerful message. We can argue about Bain and what it did or didn't do all day, but in the end, that's not going to matter. Those soundbites are going to resonate with a lot of people. Remember, only we junkies are paying attention right now. To a lot of people who are undecided and only start paying attention in the last few months of the general campaign, this could be the first time they're hearing it.
Like it or not, he is a Wall Street type of guy, who made money even though many of the companies he profited from went down, taking thousands of workers with them. It's going to be hard to combat, and I think even you realize that.
Romney is a self admitted Progressive. I bet all Conservatives are talking about the establishments pushing another Progressive on them, in the only party they have any traction. Last time it was Progressive McCain.
Progressive = anti-US Constitution.
Then you wonder why Ron Paul draws a 1000 times more people to his speeches, than the establishments puppet, Romney

Should we do a whole thread of videos of Hillary Clinton calling Obama an empty suit in 2007/2008?
"I think you'll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say," she said. "He's never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002."

Sure, go for it. But that argument had a shelf life that has long since expired. Obama actually has MORE experience now being president than Hillary and McCain combined.
