It was very possible to be SOL if you got the wrong provider.
Worse case scenario, the insurance company your boss had, didnt offer birth control, and you had to spend the $6 a month out of your pocket.. Do you think one would need a 2nd job for that?

But thats not the commercial. You might argue that it should have been, but it wasnt.

OMG! Yes! We do need Obamacare! The sooner the better! Hurry! Our daughters dreams will be shattered due to lack of Government Mandated Birth Control to regulate their periods. Make haste! No time to waste! Lives are being wasted as we speak! Oh wait...Guess what! Good news! BC is already available for those who need it and want it. (Somebody tell that Mom in the ad. Oh and play some peppy music when you do it - Happy Days Are Here Again!)

This idea of birth control (I assume meaning the Pill) used as a common medication needs to be squashed. Adding artificial hormones to one's body for anything other than birth control is a horrible idea in almost all cases. Especially when it's used as a "bandaide" to cover a more serious underlying health issue (e.g. being overweight and lack of exercise contributing to PCOS.) The drug companies love this since it makes them more money, doctors do it because it gets them more business and it's just easier. Now the Democrats use it as a political issue to further the "war on women" myth. So wrong!

It also affects the rest of us.... artificial estogens from the Pill in the urine of users, then into the water supply.
