With any luck, it would be Huntsman. The reason I say that is because, even as a liberal who disagrees with many of his views, he seems to be genuine in his convictions and in wanting the best for the country. I think that a lot of figures in the GOP are too extreme and stubborn in their views to ever get any of them passed, so their involvement in government would only further stifle the bs that's been going on since '08. I also don't believe Mitt Romney gives a crap about the U.S.; I think becoming president is more about massaging his ego.
Unfortunately, could you imagine the petri dish of GOP conspiracy theories that would flourish if two Mormons got into the White House?
I would love to see Rice there but who knows if she wants it. Unfortunately probably not. But she would be the #1 pick. After that it's Rubio and Jindal, which I see as a toss up. Rubio has the Reaganesque factor but Jindal has the smarts and executive track record. Portman has the the resume and proven ability to put up numbers but at least for me trails in pizzaz factor.
Actually I expect it to be Rubio, even though his family is Cuban, I think it'll help with the minority vote.
Cubans already vote conservative, and PR and Mexicans don't relate all that much. I think what Mitt needs to really consider is how well established his running mate's Christian is. That said, Rubio has made it clear the he's a Christian will political aspirations, so he could very well be on the ticket!
