BTW, why is the OP making such a big deal about Romney's piddly campaign contributions in the state of Michigan, when Obama managed to pull in over $15 million in just one night's dinner at George Clooney's house?!

Or maybe Hollywood conservatives (like Robert Duvall, Clint Eastwood, Jon Voight, Victora Jackson, Bruce Willis, etc.) just ain't been that impressed with what the GOP has to offer these days...

The Romney lead in funding isn't hard to imagine. Obama raises three-quarters of his donations from donors giving less than $1,000, while Mitt Romney's campaign raised more than three-quarters of its money from individuals giving $1,000 or more. That doesn't even include the billionaires donating hundreds of millions to super-packs to defeat Obama.

One has to wonder about the motivation of these billionaires?

Thats a lie, 93% of Romneys money comes from people donating $250 or less.

I think he is referring to the spin piece citing that for May, the first time ever, they had a majority small indi contribution. Which is why MR has gone from 11% to 13% small indi support.

And what is with the almost 22% incomplete or undisclosed?

I don't doubt that the vast majority of Romney supporters are not super rich, most of the nation isn't super rich.

The super rich make up less than 0.10% of the population, so obviously he can't win with just their support.

Just because he's bamboozled millions of working class stiffs doesn't mean that Romney is not beholden to Wall Street and the uber rich.

It is referring to May. Part of the reason is that there wasn't a lot of excitement during the primary. It was a painful process and to top it off Romney has not fired up the conservative base much.

May is the 1st month where Romney is free and clear of the primary -- the undisputed Republican Nominee. Now that he is the nominee, you will see more Republicans funnel in small individual donations. Yes, Obama will probably still have a nice lead in that category, but I think you will agree that Romney will perform better than he had been in small donations now that Newt and Santorum are out and there is one choice of who can beat Obama.

And remember, Obama had a lot of big donations in 2008 from Wall Street and big business, and he still has a few this time around.
