SurveyUSA News Poll #19336

Only 39% of those polled support the SCOTUS decision to uphold ObamaCare. In addition, a majority of those polled say they believe the cost of healthcare will go up following the decision and only 20% say the quality of healthcare they receive will get better. Just 36% say that all Americans should be required to have health insurance, with a solid majority saying it should be a personal choice.

The may dislike "ObamaCare" but they like what it does -- even Republicans:

Republicans support Obama’s health reforms — as long as his name isn’t on them
Quote:
* Eighty percent of Republicans favor “creating an insurance pool where small businesses and uninsured have access to insurance exchanges to take advantage of large group pricing benefits.” That’s backed by 75 percent of independents.

* Fifty-seven percent of Republicans support “providing subsidies on a sliding scale to aid individuals and families who cannot afford health insurance.” That’s backed by 67 percent of independents.

* Fifty-four percent of Republicans favor “requiring companies with more than 50 employees to provide insurance for their employers.” That’s backed by 75 percent of independents.

* Fifty two percent of Republicans favor “allowing children to stay on parents insurance until age 26.” That’s backed by 69 percent of independents.

* Seventy eight percent of Republicans support “banning insurance companies from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions; 86 percent of Republicans favor “banning insurance companies from cancelling policies because a person becomes ill.” Those are backed by 82 percent of independents and 87 percent of independents.
Question 6 of your own poll confirms this.

Meaningless. Once people realize what the bill really does and that the racist, war mongering, teavangelicals have been lying to them to protect the special interests, the ACA will be popular. It will be as popular as Medicare and Social Security and part of the so=called third rail. Sadly for the reactionaries, 1930 is not coming back. The Republican party is on the verge of extinction because the old coots and racists are a dying breed and because their policies are unpopular. On to the future!

You are right if that were to happen. But, the Reps will be long gone before then unless they figure out where the center is again. Greek conservatives would be called wild eyed socialists by the right in the US. We have a long way to go to even get back to moderation in this country.

The problem has never been a desire for affordable healtchare by either the Reps or Dems. The real issue that people are worried about is 'How will it be paid for and by whom?' --- For now, it is just another massive government tax and spend program with no real fiscal accountability or responsibility .... except for the taxpayers who get stuck with the bill.

Can "we" (whomever that may be) afford it?? -- Who knows for sure! ... All we've heard thus far is about $billions upon $billions that were already 'overlooked' when the bill was pushed through.

OP, could you rebutt Romnycare, to argue with that Romny just a few years back? If you can, then you can convince us easily.

The libs are still celebrating the Supreme Court ruling that ObamaCare is the rule of the land. Happy, giddy, thankful. Not upset in the least bit.

Obama 2012/ Hillary 2016/ Hillary 2020

Right MTA-

The majority of Americans disagree with Obamacare. You will discover this after Obama loses in November. The independents have left him; many democrats simply will not vote after this decision. I am happy about the SC decision, as it solidifies Obama's loss in November. It further tags the democratic congressmen and senators, many of whom are up for re-election, with this unpopular albatross.

This was the best of news for the Romney campaign, as it is just another brick in the wall for Obama. Romney and the republican senate and congress will eject Obamacare in 2013. What a waste of money and political capital.
