Wrong. A republican at election time would never rat out a fellow republican.

I agree with this, Reid is definitively outing Romney for the sleazy tax cheat that he is. Romney thinks that he is upholding his principles by not releasing his tax returns and will not tell the American people anything more about his taxes because he says we know enough about him already. Complete nonsense from Romney as usual, because we know almost nothing about this person, and Romney has a very long history of destroying records that pertain to his past including erasing records and communications from his time as MA Governor, the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics, hiding the names of his campaign bundlers and Williard still can't tell us whether he was actually working at Bain from 1999 - 2002. With Romney's secretive and discredited past, the burden of proof is on Romney, not Reid.

I agree with you and I think most Americans, certainly the moderates, would agree with you. He might take a couple days of heat and have to endure some ads, but that would be it. Romney knows that too. The fact the he still does not release his returns is more than a suggestion that there is much more to the story than simply not paying taxes because he was "following the rules". He evaded taxes, got caught and either took the amnesty or paid penalties. That is what he does not want on page one.

I agree with this. If Romney simply paid a low tax rate, he would have released the taxes months ago so that it would no longer be an issue by election time. The fact that he didn't do this, coupled with McCain not picking him for a running mate, is very suspicious!

I still think McCain not picking him had nothing to do with the taxes, and had everything to do with trying to find a "minority" candidate to match Obama and his half blackness...picking Romney to add another middle aged white guy to the mix was not an option.

McCain wanted Lieberman, so no not really. Palin was foisted on him by his staff at the last minute because they felt the rubes out in Real America™ wouldn't support a Jew, let alone a nominally Democrat Jew on the ticket. They were probably right.

Right...and Lieberman was another very different candidate himself...jewish AND bi-partisan, had to be something VERY different to grab a large segment of voters and counter the black vote.
