Right...and Lieberman was another very different candidate himself...jewish AND bi-partisan, had to be something VERY different to grab a large segment of voters and counter the black vote.
No, McCain just really liked Lieberman personally. Which is actually kinda admirable given that he's cursed with the world's most punchable face.
But seriously Lieberman would've added nothing to the ticket. Democratic partisans loathe the guy, Republicans are indifferent except for his hawkish stance on the middle east, and Jews are 2-3% of the electorate. Even allowing for Florida, which Bush or Gore depending on how you feel won by less than 500 votes with Lieberman on the ticket; it wouldn't have been enough to swing things either way.
If Reid was a Republican he would be a birther...its just the same old BS. They should all be ashamed of themselves, and should probably all have full audits of their financials by the IRS as a qualifier for being a candidate for any federal office.
But Reid is NOT a Republican. 'If' can twist any discussion any way the person who uses it want to go.
The fact is: people of all kinds, in and out of politics, have been asking Romney to release his tax forms for over a month now, and he refuses. When the richest man since Nelson Rocerfeller is running for President, and is known to have a bunch of offshore accounts, and whose wealth comes from money manipulation, not industry, asking to see basic legal tax details would seem to be a no-brainer if the tax returns are proper and clean.
We've all paid taxes. We all know what we each can legally get away with as deductions and what we can't get away with. What's Mitt got to hide?
I might have been born in the dark, but it wasn't THAT dark. Mitt's angry reluctance tells me he is trying to hide something big.

And what about Obama's "angry reluctance" when it came to his birth certificate? I'm far from being a birther, but there is NO difference between these two issues.
Wrong. A republican at election time would never rat out a fellow republican.
McCain's actual chance at winning the presidency was taken from him by Karl Rove and other assorted wastes of oxygen in the GWB campaign, back in the 2000 primary. Who's to say he's not enjoying a little payback?
Not surprisingly, three crazed leftists jump in to show us their true selves. The LOL moment for these people is they think Americans of the sane variety think like them.
Geez, Ed. You just can't give up the name calling, can you? Good old Ed. Says nothing, calls names.
