And I was wrong about this.
Paul Ryan has plenty of vision. Even though i think his plans are dangerous, at least he has them.
This pick says more about Ryan than Mitt, I think. Ryan didn't want the job; he's been in the House since 1998, so I'm sure he got leaned on, but Mitt needed someone of his stature. This now puts Ryan in the Repub succession chain, which was missing a link after Romney, so win or lose, Ryan will come out ahead if he wants to set his sights on the White House.
As a Representative, if he loses with Mitt, he's probably going right back and get re-elected to the House, where he's quite happy. That's the key. Ryan is one of the few who could take a Presidential campaign loss without any damage. You stated it correct, Dixie. he had no Presidential ambitions.
Oh yeah! The guy that's gonna hand out medicare vouchers for seniors to deal with private insurance companies, that's gonna work real well
Are they also gonna tell the seniors they can pocket the difference?
How does debt-cutting lead to helping Americans back to work? You do know that spending cuts means loss of jobs!!
Debt cutting = eventually having lower taxes for everyone which = more disposable income. Hopefully it means the loss of over paid, low value government, and military industrial complex type jobs.
When the federal government "creates" jobs it is unfortunately usually through wasteful spending that doesnt actually add value to the economy, and it only "helps" in the very short term.
