The selection of Paul Ryan as the VP candidate will move any undecideds/independents/moderates away from the Republican ticket. These are the groups that truly decide the election. While it does energize the right, it shifts the middle away.
In the end it is Congress that makes the budget. The President/VP can only suggest and submit proposals.
Congress holds the purse strings yet so many forget that.
This 65 year old is in full support. But, yeah, all voters, young or old, who fail to look under the covers are subject to being easily swayed. I mean if an ad that pushes Granny over the cliff can sway voters, well duh!
It is about time we talked about transforming a broken program, like Medicare. Disagree with specific ideas, but don't demagogue, or fear monger. Don't like his ideas, suggest something else, that both preserves, and improves.
The ACA, aka Obamacare is not it, as it engages in smoke and mirrors to present a pretty exterior. Kind of like the house that has nice curb appeal. It is only, after having gone into the house - a few years out in the case of the ACA - that one discovers the house (ACA) is built upon a shoddy and shifting foundation. A few goodies on the front end -the curb appeal -, but loaded with taxes and reduced payment to providers on the back end - the the shoddy and shifting foundation.

I like how you knew exactly what I was talking about
I'm just interested in hearing the elderlys perspective since Ryan was heavily scrutinized by the his elderly constituents when the details of his plan were revealed. Do you use medicaid? How do you feel about Ryan's solution in regards to medicaid?
An uninspired choice. The Republicans will need to rely heavily on older voters, and I'm sure most of them aren't going to vote for a team that wants to mothball Medicare. Romney just put another nail in his coffin, not that it matters either way.
